Stories from another London

Stories from another London features modern tales based on traditional London legends of the uncanny, paranormal and supernatural. Most were originally published in the 21st century penny dreadful One Eye Grey which attempted to provide something chilling and pocket sized to read on the way to work. This new Kindle collection aims to do the same.

The stories take place in pubs, underground, alongside canals and on housing estates. In essence the London we know and love but alongside this there is another London that looks like the familiar streets, tube stations and parks. This collection invites you to take a stroll down those.

Free London Tours! (sort of)

So in a bid to take the tales back to the streets they came from there will be free London tours for those who purchase Stories from another London on Kindle. The walks will take place on the weekend of 17/18th March.

Please email penny@fandmpublications.co.uk to express your interest and date(s) just so we can get an idea of numbers. Obviously the easiest way to prove you have bought a copy is to bring your Kindle along as we will be operating a kind of  display or pay (£5.00) option.

Saturday 17th March 12 PM Let's go down the Strand!
I beg your pardon we never promised you Covent Garden but on this stroll you’ll find all kinds of delights from the spooky Jenny’s Hole to where you may find Barbara Streisand's underwear and why the bowler hat disappeared from the streets of London. There are also stories about a smelly lamp, a bunch of ghosts and a mad elephant.

Sunday 18th March 2 PM Bloomsbury: Sounds of the suburb: A tour of London's first suburb featuring strange ghosts, substance abuse, literary greats and violent street disorder. We cannot of course guarantee the street disorder or indeed ghosts actually appearing but the songs and stories about them will. We shall naturally mention Bloomsbury’s many famous residents as well as a culinary history that sees top national restaurant chains being set up a few yards from each other in the south of the area.
